Sutton Place Synagogue offers congregants a traditional Conservative service with a uniquely contemporary sensibility, led by Rabbi Rachel Ain and Cantor Luis Cattan. Rabbi Ain actively aligns the tenets of Judaism to contemporary life and politics, both in the US and Israel. She frequently engages congregants in lively discussion on those issues, particularly during her weekly sermons — making Sutton Place Synagogue’s services as provocative, current and intellectually compelling as they are steeped in traditional, Conservative Judaism.

Beyond services, Rabbi Ain is known for her accessibility, whether congregants seek counsel during challenging times or simply an informed opinion based on foundational Jewish teachings.
