Virtual Kadima Mitzvah Cooking (5th-7th grades)

Hannah will be leading our Kadima-niks in making extra-special mashed potatoes to donate to local community fridges to feed hungry neighbors. This Kadima event is running in conjunction with the Family Mitzvah Cooking Project.
Hints:
Make two dishes--one to donate and one for dinner!
You can drop off your dish at SPS for storage on Monday, 1/24 between 10 am-4 pm. Please just call before you come!

Virtual Family Mitzvah Cooking Project

Join us to cook delicious food while doing the mitzvah of feeding the hungry! SPS member and professional caterer, Ira Zahler, will lead us in a cooking project to make turkey meatloaf (or Beyond Meatloaf). Then, we will donate our dishes to local community refrigerators around Manhattan.

SPS Teens will be conducting intergenerational interviews with SPS seniors. Lauren Orenstein, SPS member and professional genealogist, will lead a brief virtual training, and then we will start the interviews!

Join us for more mitzvah cooking! We will be making chili with JRS dad, Daniel Gross, to donate to community fridges to feed people in need around Manhattan.

Families with kids in K-7th grades
Monday, January 18 @ 4 pm: cooking on Zoom
Tuesday & Wednesday, January 19 & 20: volunteers deliver lasagnas
Come join as we do Tikkun Olam (repairing the world!) We will explore food insecurity and Jewish values as we make lasagnas together!
JRS dad and professional caterer Ira Zahler will guide us through the cooking, and you can make one for dinner and one to donate!
Lasagnas will be donated to those who need them through Lasagna Love and to community refrigerators in Harlem.
Schedule:
Monday @ 4 pm: learning & cooking together over Zoom
Tuesday & Wednesday: volunteer drivers take lasagnas to Harlem destinations
