for birth-4th graders & families
at Sutton Place Synagogue
Join us for our IN PERSON Purim carnival, complete with carnival games, glitter tattoos, and Purim activities! Families will come at specific timeslots to allow for social distancing. We will include KNS-specific pods.
Everyone ages 2+ must wear a face mask; KN-95 or surgical masks are recommended.
Everyone ages 5+ must show proof of COVID vaccination (18+ must show booster).

Tot Chanukah with Mainstages (Virtual)

We will have an interactive Chanukah variety show hosted by Mainstages, an educational theater company for children! This 45 minute show will include Chanukah-themed puppets, trivia, scavenger hunts, stories and games for our Tots!

Wednesday, December 1 at 4:30 pm (during JRS)
Author of Kayla and Kugel's Happy Hanukkah, Ann Koffsky will be Zooming in to join us for Chanukah! Our Gan, Kitah Aleph and Kitah Bet (K-2nd grade) classes will get to virtually meet the author and do some Chanukah activities with her.
This event is open to JRS parents (Zoom or in-person) and SPS & KNS families (Zoom).

Come join us as we go apple picking, enjoy a hayride and pumpkin patch, and share a picnic lunch at Dr. Davies Farm in Rockland County!

Join Alyssa as we celebrate Shavuot, the holiday of dairy treats! We’ll make our very own ice cream and hear a story about this important holiday.
Ingredients needed:
- Two quart and one gallon zip lock bags
- Milk or Half and Half
- Sugar
- Vanilla extract
- Ice
- Salt
- Any toppings you might want!

JRS Family Passover Program
For JRS students & their adults
Come join us for a family-oriented hands-on Passover experience during JRS! We will focus on the tastes and touches of the seder as families prepare for a Passover that is different from all other Passovers.
Gan-Kitah Bet (K-2nd grade): Will focus on matzah—includes baking! Click here for ingredient list.
Kitah Gimmel & Kitah Dalet (3rd-4th grades): Will focus on maror (bitter herb) and charoset—includes chopping! Click here for ingredient list.
Kitah Hey & Kitah Vav (5th & 6th grades): Will focus on pesach (the roasted bone/offering) and the phrase “ha lachma anya” (let all who are hungry come and eat) from the Haggada. Postcards have been mailed.
Kitah Zayin (7th grade): Will help plan and lead the programs for the other classes.

For the whole family! Award-Winning Magician Danny Dubin has performed his Family Purim Magic Show for Jewish communities across the country. His virtual show uniquely blends storytelling, audience participation and incredible magic! Audiences explore the story of Purim through interactive magic, including a magical feat performed by “Mordechai” and appearing hamentashen! Rainbow streamers appear in the most random places and a volunteer from the audience will do magic in their own hands. We will accompany our magic show by making rainbow-themed hamentashen to enjoy!
